Rolex is unveiling the new Oyster Perpetual Deepsea. It features 44mm oyster case with redesigned lugs and sides and a broader oyster bracelet with a new Oysterlock folding safety clasp. The professional diver’s wristwatch is equipped with a high-end movement, caliber 3235, for the first time.
The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Sea-Dweller m126660-0002 is made of Oystersteel, boasts a D-blue dial. This dial was launched in 2014 in order to pay homage to Deep Sea Challenge. For the exploration, Rolex cooperated with National Geographic Society to support James Cameron dive to 10,908 meters/35,787 feet. The depth is the deepest point in Mariana Trench. Like all Rolex watches, new Rolex Deepsea is certified by Superlative Chronometer.
Oyster Case And Ringlock
The new Rolex Deepsea for deepsea diving is water resistant to 3,900 meters/12,800 feet. Redesigned Oyster case guarantees size and thickness away from extraordinary pressure. Ringlock Rolex invented plays an important role in anti-pressure ability. Ringlock consists of three parts: a domed 5.5mm-thick sapphire crystal, a high-performance Nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel ring placed in the middle case, a case back in oystersteel and titanium grade 5. The Trilock winding crown equipped with three waterproof rings screws down the case, ensuring perfect water resistance.
Helium Escape Valve
Helium Escape Valve equipped in Rolex Deepsea watch protects wristwatches from explosion in diving, developed and patented by Rolex in 1967. After landing, divers will get in the high-pressure cabin, and the helium escape valve will release excessive pressure. In diving, a reliable wristwatch is necessary. Every Rolex Deepsea watch need to be test in the high-voltage compartment developed by Rolex and Comex. To ensure safety further, additional 25% depth guaranteed.
The unidirectional rotatable bezel of Rolex Deepsea m126660-0002 is fitted with a black 60-minute Cerachrom inset in black ceramic that allows divers to know the underwater time. Rolex patented scales in high-tech ceramic is resistant to scratches, and color fading never happens in ultraviolet ray.
Rolex Deepsea m126660-0002 is equipped with calibre 3235, the new generation of self-winding mechanical movements developed by Rolex. It features accuracy, reliability, shock resistance and anti-magnetism, reflecting innovative technologies and top craftsmanship of Rolex. Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement in nickel and phosphorus is not only efficient, reliable but free from magnetic interference. Rolex’s Parachrom hairspring isn’t disturbed by magnetic interference, whose anti-shock property is ten times better than the ordinary spring. New barrels and escapement system make calibre 3235 extend to approx 70-hour power reserve.
Oyster Bracelet with Extension System
Oyster bracelet of Rolex Deepsea with Oyster safety clasp prevents the clasp from opening accidently. Double extension system helps divers wearing 7 mm-thick diving suits suitable for Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-blue Dial Watch m126660-0002. The toothed panel located under the clasp cover can be extended to approx 20mm. The Fliplock extension link extends the bracelet by 26mm. Both extension link and the clasp have been adjusted to fit the watch’s broad bracelet.
